A Moment to be Fantastical
I was observing a science class the other day. It was demonstrating what goes on in an atom. On the monitor was an electron that was revolving around the nucleus. The teacher asked what the simulation reminded the students of. I silently thought that it reminded me about the moon revolving around the earth.
For years, now, I have thought about the immenseness of our universe. I've thought about how we, as humans, are just like cells on a body when you compare us to everything that is out there. We're important to life, but we just shed off as time passes. I've also thought that God, or Source, whatever you want to call your higher power, wasn't just some being in the sky.
I'm comfortable with calling God "He," so I'll just refer to Him that way. As a way to feel more connected to God, and to recognize that He is within me, I've been thinking of him on a microscopic level--like an atom. Atoms with their protons, neutrons, and electrons are everywhere. God is everywhere. God is everything. I think of God as an atom. I feel so much more connected when I do.
When I saw the electron circling the neutron and looking like the moon circling the earth, I thought about how immense the universe is. I thought about God in every aspect of it. I thought about how our world and our moon might just be one atom in the immensity of this universe. To me, that was a fun thought.
